Making Up for Lost Time

So an entire 1/2 year has gone by without any blogging!!! Last blog was December 9th, 2009. Well fast forward through the Merry Christmas', Happy New Years', Happy Easter's and my birthday. Life has been a blur these last six months. So much has happened and so much has changed. I'm sorry for not keeping up with everyone, I hope to do much better in the upcoming months. Please bear with me as I try to list important events in the last 6 months of the Butters' world. :)

December 25th, 2009: The first Christmas spent married; definitely a blessing. We started our own traditions and learned how to compromise on family traditions

End of January 2010: Received a letter from University of North Carolina: Chapel Hill and was declined acceptance to the Graduate Occupational Therapy Program. I was heartbroken, but didn't give up. Decided to apply Western Michigan University's program at the last minute. (Due date was February 2, 2010) I knew chances weren't likely as it is a very hard school to get into and usually requires ~2 applications before admitted.

February 14th, 2010: Spent Valentine's weekend with Adam and Megan in Chicago with her family. I was unfortunately not feeling well but enjoyed the city during the day. The Windy City took its toll on me that night though - spent Sunday and Monday so sick. :( I believe this was the 2nd Valentine's Day with Luke I spent sick.

Beginning of March : Anxiously waiting to hear about our future. Not sure where we would be a few months, growing nervous, frutrated and anxious with every day. I just wanted to know what was ahead for Luke and I.

March 25, 2010: I received my acceptence letter to one of the best schools in the nation for Occupational Therapy; Western Michigan University. I am officially a Bronco!!

April 1-5, 2010: Luke and I took or first family vacation to Lexington, Kentucky. We visited the Kentucky Horse Park, University of Kentucky and enjoyed the sites. It was gorgeous weather and we had a great time! It was a great way to spend my 23rd birthday!!

May 27, 2010: Last day at Bronson Vet Services where I have enjoyed working for the last year. Mixed feelings were involved. I was excited to be moving on, but sad to go.

May 28, 2010: Signed the lease on our new apartment in Kalamazoo (as our current apartment lease was up June 1st).

And here we are...in Kalamazoo, getting settled in, looking for jobs in the area (Luke is living with his parents and keeping is old job until he finds something up here). Things are again stressful, but we are so blessed and so much has happened in the last 6 months!! Not to mention, we are coming up on our 1 year anniversary already!
